Welcome to New World Creative Order where one of our objectives is to inspire and encourage others in their creative meanderings. As we enter into the holiday season, we can’t help but reflect on our lives and the lives of others. Focus on the negative of a photograph for a moment –  it reminds me of the life left when a person is no longer living , the impression that remains. This week reflect on the images and the people in them and create a collage, a word picture, a memory of those who remain as lasting impressions in your life.

I am placing some inverted photographs (L. Moon copyright 2012) on the blog to stimulate your creativity.

Sunday Snap Shot - Converging Creativity 11.11.12

Welcome to New World Creative Union and Sunday Snap Shot.

We strive at NWCU to inspire creative thought that can be translated into multiple genres of art.

I met Michael Burgoyne on Twitter (@MB_IndiePoet8) and fell in love with his poetry. His work has inspired several of my shots and more poetry. Today I asked Michael to collaborate our creativity and see what emerges. He took a photograph of mine and wrote a poem from it. I took a poem of his and was inspired to shoot a picture. I believe all of us can be inspired by art or by words. Is there someone in your sphere whose work you admire? 

Here's the challenge - develop your work off the art or words of another. That person could be a friend, a famous person, or someone you have seen around the blogsphere. Please be sure to attribute that person's work and join us as we strive toward a greater level of creativity!!!

luminating dawn's inception

upon a mosaic splattered canvas

enticing through transparent glass

erupting visions

electrifying the synaptic cleft of the mind

towards the awakening

ultimate enlightenment

sparking heavenly life

carried with the winds of tranquility

the breath of meditation

whisking

providing spiritual guidance

upon the wings of eternal glory

culminated in the ascent

the journey to our divine mountain peak

foreshadowed in the highlands of our faith derived dreams

I asked Michael what his creative process was.
"Simply, all I do is look at the images, have it spark some type of emotion or creative flow, and I run with it. I allow the image or the idea to consume me. Sometimes the words pour out of me while with others the creative process takes quite awhile."

Fall is so full of inspiration. The colors, the sounds, the life that speeds up to beat the winter - all part of fall. Wednesday Wake Up Call 24.10.12

Shades of Edgar...

It's Wednesday and that means a healthy dose of creativity and Wednesday Wake Up Call to get us going. 

I (Leslie Moon) was excited to find this haunting piece of music as I had been thinking of Edgar Allen Poe for the past several days. I was thrilled to discover that Max Ablitzer ( a delightful and very talented musician) will be performing in London at the Bush Theatre on November 3, 2012.(Wish I could be in the audience.)  His videos will the projected while he plays  his songs on the piano to enchanting poetry recited by Tishani Doshi.

Welcome to the NWCU Sunday Snapshot #NWCU #ART #photography

Today is The New World Creative Union’s first Sunday Snapshot. We would like to welcome each of you especially our guest photographer Terence Jones.

I (Leslie Moon) met Terence several years ago on Flickr. I was entranced with his work; several of my archived poems have his black and white photographs as the prompts.

Look through the aperture with Terence and experience art...

What is your favorite subject to shoot?

“I usually want to capture something that is lost in every day’s speed. I just realized this extremely old iron rail in front of my window. It is probably eighty years old, has seen wars, births, deaths; it is a silent witness of what happened here.”

How does black and white impact your expression?

“Very much actually. Colors force the viewer to see the picture in a pre-defined way. In shooting black and white, I believe that  the perception is more genuine and not necessarily linked to former experience. It is more pure, more about the picture itself.”

What would you suggest to people just starting out?

“I believe in the Tradition of the Sun (Coelho). Go the extra mile, explore, get in touch and connect with what you are doing. You have to touch it yourself. Go out from the beginning and have fun.”

For those of you who are curious, Terence shoots with a Canon EOS 7D. His primary lens is the Canon 50mm. He is a shallow depth of field addict; usually shoots almost wide open at f/2.0.

I wondered if she belonged to the old house ( turned into a B & B) I was staying in. I could see a story in her eyes. She seems like a perfect inspiration for this time of year.
