I’m a writer and teacher through and through. I’ve tried my hand at everything else. I’ve been in the financial world. I’ve been a banker. I’ve been a business-Jane-of-all-trades. I’ve tackled insurance, and I’ve done a few other jobs in between. The only thing I love to do (which also keeps me sane) is to write and teach. I didn’t grow up thinking I was a writer. Right out of high school, I got a job with Scholastic Books, Inc. taking phone orders for book clubs from school teachers. During downtime, all we could do was read. That started my love affair with fiction. As I grew up and life got tough, I discovered that I read more and more to escape life for a little while. A few years later, I was reading a tremendous fantasy series and the most horrible thing happened! It ended! I was so happy to read the ending and find some relief, but I was equally sad to see the world come to an end. In that moment, I thought, “If I could write books, my worlds would never end.” That was the first thought which led me to writing. A few other things made up my mind to write. Mostly, I learned that books could be so powerful. Then I knew I wanted to write…to change hearts, open minds, and provide an escape. I’ve written (and finished) four books to date: And So It Happened, Snow Boy, Majee Legends, Hidden Magics and I will soon finish a new book called Afraid. Richard Fenwick is a poet, author, and Russian translator whose work has been featured in various international journals. He studied creative writing at the University of Maryland, and Russian at the Defense Language Institute in Monterrey, California. He was a Russian linguist in the Air Force and flew reconnaissance missions during the Cold War. His first full collection of poetry, Around the Sun Without a Sail, is scheduled to be published in mid-2012. Richard lives in Tucson, Arizona, where he works as a translator for Russian, Belorussian, and Ukrainian Holocaust survivors.

Living in the South, enjoying life, trying new things. Previously a registered nurse, mother and now writing for the River Journal online, an artistic paper. Lately I realized a desire to write and so have begun this venture into unknown territory, but I like it. When I finished that book last July, I was thrilled! It's based on a true story so the plot is what it is. I bought a book when I was thirty on how to write a romance novel so I think the idea has been there for awhile. It would be nice to be able to do this and make a little in return. We'll see.

Reflecting on my grades in college I noticed my scores in Writing and World Geography were better than all those Chemistry and Math grades. I didn't study at all til Nursing School, then it was do or die. It is so fun when words come to me out of nowhere.

I have traveled extensively in the States and Caribbean and hope to go to Europe and South America one day.

Has more movie knowledge than any one person should know and spends more

time with animals than people, is that a crime? He does not take himself

too seriously, as to steal a movie line, sorta, "We aren't going to get

out alive anyway, so may as well have fun along the way."
