The NWCU Announces its' Grand Autumnal Surprise!

The Creative Nexus is on the air!

Tuesday, October 9, 2012, NWCU, Facebook, Twitter, global -
The New World Creative Union (NWCU) has announced, this date, that it is unveiling it's Grand Autumnal Surprise, which is the debut of it's new BlogTalkRadio (BTR) Show, the Creative Nexus

When asked about the BTR project, Natasha Head, one of the two Founder-Coordinators of the NWCU, responded by saying, "This is a great undertaking, an adventure, and one that is going to move the NWCU into a new realm of it's own."

I then asked Roger Allen Baut, the other Founder-Coordinator of the NWCU his take on all of this, and he said, "From the very beginning of the NWCU, it has been about artists, artisans, and writers, that, in itself, makes us unique! A broad spectrum of the creative field, so to say. Anyone who has thought otherwise, or that it was about a 'select' group of people, is profoundly mistaken!"

Roger then went on to say, "I have said time and time again, and so has Natasha, that, '...if we are going to survive as a species, and prosper, it can only be done by all of us coming together to support, share and promote each other's work. If we continue to be an 'ego' driven and materialistic species, we shall surely fail!'"

Natasha, interjected, "We're looking at the BTR Creative Nexus to help us feature and talk with creatives from all areas of the various Arts, as well as from different countries. We're going to do interviews with painters, sculptures, artisans, writers, et cetera, and also going, far and beyond, into other areas of inter-related thought; there is definitely a multi-dimensional aspect to the show!"

I then asked Natasha, "So, tell me a little more about the BTR Creative Nexus show." "Well," she went on to say, "we're starting out with a two hour episode, twice a week, although we can do more, if we chose, but that depends on Roger's schedule and mine. This is really an exciting opportunity not only for the NWCU, but for artists, artisans, and writers, too.

Please join us for our premiere episode of the Creative Nexus on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. EDT (ADT: 7:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. CDT- 4:00 MDT - 3:00 p.m. PDT).

Interview with Laurie Harris Kolp, B.S., published author, poet

Come with Natasha and Roger as they journey into the world of the Creative Nexus, where you’ll find an interesting collage of thoughts on art, artists, artisans, and writers, and explore a world of thought to enhance and awaken your consciousness.

Phoenix Rising: A Guide to the NWCU Phoenixes

As we are all aware, the phoenix is a mystical creature that has been a part of many civilization's mythology. Many of the stories from these different cultures speak of the phoenix as a symbol for 'rebirth,' and that it rises from the ashes of its own demise. It is also known as the fire bird in some lands.

The phoenix, that you see depicted by the NWCU, is an ancient artistic representation of a Japanese phoenix called the Hō-ō.

According to legend, originally from China, the Hō-ō appears very rarely, and then only to mark the beginning of the dawn of a new era, or the birth of a virtuous ruler. In other traditions, the Hō-ō appears only in peaceful and prosperous times, and hides itself during times of trouble and conflict. As the herald of a new age, the Hō-ō decends from heaven   to Earth, to do good deeds.

This is how the NWCU envisions its phoenix, as the herald of a new age of peace and cooperation. Where humankind works together for the betterment of all, as well as the planet. A new age is dawning as the phoenix rises. Join with us in this great adventure!

Below are the current images of the NWCU phoenix, and what each represents:

• Remember, our purpose is to ultimately share the good works of our group.
• Don't forget! Even if you do not participate please:

• A special designation will be given to the entrant who receives the 'most' Google +1s.
• Visit those who have participated, commenting, and engaging with your fellow creatives.
• Most of all, we hope you enjoy the event, community and interacting.

Remember The NWCU is all about 'sharing'
and 'promoting' each others creative work!

Wednesday Wake-Up Features @GothicGlass

Today, I'd love to share with you a wonderful Nova Scotia artist I discovered on twitter.  Angie Chase began her Gothic Glass creations while residing on Canada's West Coast.  Here, she began building a following through the online ether that would follow her back home.  While many may think that Gothic Glass refers to subculture, the term is actually used in reference to that particular period in stained glass architectural history. It speaks of the pointed arches, the ribbed vaults and flying buttresses, but perhaps, most notably, the rose window.

I have purchased Angie's works, and was delighted by the quality, not to mention the affordability of her pieces.  Today, I'm going to share some of my favorite pieces with you, (with Angie's permission, of course) and would love to see how this amazing art form get's your own creative juices flowing.  You'll also find links to her work included for sharing with your response.  Let's spread the good news of this wonderful artisan!

This is how we play...

  • Spend some time with Angie's wonderful pieces. Feel free to visit her pages and pick your favorites. Share the piece with appropriate links on your blog.
  • Let your creative take over. Are you compelled to pick up a pen? Grab a paint brush? Bang your drum? No matter how you choose to respond, if you can post it to your blog, you can share it with NWCU
  • Once your post is complete, visit our Mr.Linky button below.  Here you will be asked to submit your name, as well as the address of the post you're sharing. Once you do this, you're in!
  • Our purpose is to spread the good work of artists and creatives the world over. Visit those who have decided to play along, comment, tweet, and share their responses with your peers.  Let's help each other build our fan bases, grow our following, and share our work.  You never know where the next great connection will be found!
  • You have till Sunday morning, 8amEST to post your response. Throughout the prompt, we will be tallying the +1's on the post. The longer you have to share, the better chance you have of taking home our Creative Designate badge!
And perhaps most of all, a huge thank you has to go out to Angie for letting me share her wonderful work with you! Please don't forget to swing by and show your gratitude....

FAQ'S ~ What Do I Do Now?

One of the frequently asked questions by members, especially new members, is: "So, I'm a member  of the New World Creative Union (NWCU), "What do I do now?"

First please become familiar with what this group's purpose/concept is about: The primary 'purpose' of this group is to bring 'artists' and 'artisans' together for their mutal benefit, support, information, interaction, AND to 'promote' each other's work.
When we speak of 'artists,' we are speaking of the creative folk who produce paintings, drawings, sketches, murals, photographs, writings, videos, music, poetry, dance, et cetera; not just 'one' of those groups, or a combination such as videos/paintings, et cetera. Please help us to build an 'ecletic' group for the NWCU.
When we speak of 'artisans' we are talking about all the creative folk who create items that may be functional or strictly decorative, such as: stained glass, jewellery, decorative pieces, clothing, et cetera. Please help us add these people to our group too.
• We are seeking 'quality' not 'quantity' members. Anyone may label himself or herself as this or 'that,' but may, in reality, not be.
When we speak of mutal benefit, support, information, interaction, AND to 'promote' each other's work, we are talking not only about 'us' doing that for you, BUT, 'you' doing that for the other members of this group. It is 'not' up to Natasha or myself to do 'everything', but 'you' too.
"If we are to survive and 'progress' as a 'species' and have a healthy biosphere to live in, it can only be acheived, by all of 'us' working for the 'mutual' benefit of each other, and the planet.

~Roger Allen Baut
