The Celestine Prophecy ~ An Adventure
James Redfield

I came to this book early on in my own adventures with energy. It was about 14 years ago, and my father recommended I read it.  I did…enjoying the tale…but obviously not quite ready to receive the message.

When it came up in conversation on The Creative Nexus over on BTR, my eye was immediately drawn to the book on my shelf.  How it had made its way to my shelf…I’m not entirely sure.  A year after moving, there are still boxes of books waiting for their rotation on my shelves. (Limited space…TONS of books) Perhaps…it was awakening me to the first insight…there are no coincidences.

Since my first reading, my exploration of our energy has evolved along with the study in our world. As the theories of quantum physics gain popularity, a resurgence of interest in this fictional tale is to be expected.  But in all honesty…the story may well be the oldest in our history. It is the story of oneness, of cooperation, of doing to others, of shedding the dogma and quite simply waking up to the miracles we are.

Through Nine Key Insights (and a wonderful adventure through Peru) James Redfield shares this fictional tale…that carries great weight in the hearts and minds of those waking bodies.

A brief breaking down is provided here, but there’s sure to be some fascinating conversation happening over on the Facebook event…and you’re all invited to join! We'll be getting underway Sunday, November 18th...and we'll be chatting all day long!

The Nine Insights of The Celestine Prophecy
(Provided by

1 – A critical Mass: A new spiritual awakening is occurring in human culture, an awakening brought about by a critical mass of individuals who experience their lives as a journey in which we are all led forward by mysterious coincidences.

Questions to consider: Am I aware of the coincidences that happen in my life? Are any of these, or several of these, interesting enough to develop a paper about?

2- The longer now: This awakening represents the creation of a new, more complete world view, which replaces a five-hundred-year-old preoccupation with secular survival and comfort. While this technological preoccupation was an important step, our awakening to life coincidences is opening us up to the real purpose of human life on this planet and the real nature of our universe.

Questions to consider: Do you have one or several preoccupations that have affected your life (addiction, resistance to authority, emotional dramas, fear, conformity, family entanglements, etc.) Consider writing a paper which describes these preoccupations and how you want to get past them. Describe where you want to be in six months, in a year, the people you admire, and the things you want your life to include.

3 – A matter of energy: We now experience that we live not in a material universe but in a universe of dynamic energy. Everything is a field of energy that we can sense and intuit. Moreover, we humans can project our energy by focusing our attention in the desired direction, influencing other energy systems and increasing the pace of coincidences in our lives.

Questions to consider: Have you ever given or received energy from nature, other people, playing sports, being a member of a community or activity? Have you ever seen an energy field? Or, have you ever felt the energy between your hands or someone else’s hands and yours?

4- The struggle for power: Too often humans cut themselves off form the greater source of this energy and so feel weak and insecure. To gain energy we tend to manipulate or force others to give us attention and thus energy. When we successfully dominate others in this way, we feel more powerful, but they are left weakened and often fight back. Competition for scarce human energy is the cause of all conflict between people.

Questions to consider: Have you ever stolen someone’s energy? Have you ever had your energy stolen? What has the book taught you about this?

5- The message of the Mystics: Insecurity and violence end when we experience an inner connection with divine energy, a connection described by the mystics of all traditions. A sense of lightness—buoyancy—and the constant sensation of love are measures of this connection. If these measures are present, the connection is real. If not, it is only pretended.

Questions to consider: "On the highest peak of the mountain, he suddenly feels at one with everything—as if the world, the sun, and the sky were all part of his own body."

Have you ever had an experience similar to this? This insight describes what is practiced by those who study Eastern philosophy via Zen meditation, hatha yoga, martial arts, acupuncture, and other healing disciplines. It is really about a breaking down the barrier of the mind/body separation.

6—Clearing the past: By understanding the more we stay connected, the more we are acutely aware of those times when we lose connection. In these times, we can see our own particular way of stealing energy from others. Once our manipulations are brought to personal awareness, our connection becomes more constant and then we can discover our own growth path in life, and our spiritual mission, the personal way we can contribute to the world.

Questions to consider: How does your control drama hold you back from achieving the goals you have set for yourself? What does your control drama say about you?

7—Engaging the flow: Knowing our personal mission further enhances the flow of mysterious coincidences as we are guided toward our destinies. First we have a question, then dreams, day dreams, and intuitions lead us toward the answers, which usually are synchronistically provided by the wisdom of another human being.

Questions to consider: After examining your dreams, what are they telling you? Consider writing a paper which analyzes one or more of your dreams.
8—The interpersonal ethic: We can increase the frequency of guiding coincidences by uplifting every person that comes into our lives. Care must be taken not to lose our inner connection in romantic relationships. Uplifting each other is especially effective in groups where each member can feel the energy of all the others. With children it is extremely important to their early security and growth.

Questions to consider: How are romantic relationships interfering with your growth? Have you ever successfully developed a platonic relationship? What is your relationship like with small children?

9—The emerging culture: As we all evolve towards the best completion of our spiritual missions, the technological means of survival will be fully automated as humans focus instead on synchronistic growth. Such growth will move humans into ever-higher energy states, ultimately transforming our bodies into spiritual form and uniting this dimension of existence with the afterlife dimension, ending the cycle of birth and death.

Questions to consider: What can you do to increase the quality of living in the next millennium?

  1. Looking good Natasha! Thanks for this insightful post! Let your LIGHT so shine!

    Roger ☺

  2. I loved this book. The only bother I had on my brain while reading it was that some of the connections seemed contrived. Other than that, I subscribe to a lot of the tenets and philosophies inside the novel.

I believe that in order to increase the quality of life for the next millenium, humans will have to eradicate violence. There are a few ways to do this, and each will be met with fierce opposition, but anything worth doing is hard to do.

    1. Well, it was a novel, and as a novel Shockgrubz, it was a perfect medium to bring forth some important metaphysical concepts, in story form, for some who may, or may not have been aware of them. So, from my perspective, it is a great, introductory book. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts!

      Best regards,
      Roger ☺

    2. I agree on the contrived connections, and felt the same the first time I read the book...too easy. BUT...going through again, I think it is that ease that we doubt. The "coincidences" are just that easy. The connections, just that easy. In our search for wondrous miracles and proof of something more...we actually disregard many because our first thought is "merely coincidence".

    3. After the second time reading it, it did take me a while to draw a congruence between the seemingly contrived coincidences within the book and my own life. There are plenty of things I have told others that happened to me only to be received with the same skepticism as I've placed in my mind when first reading this book.

So thank you both, Roger and Natasha for this little forum. My lack of apropos and sporadic nature create a similar situation in that 'this is no coincidence'.

The last copy of this book I was given is hopefully in the hands of a less skeptical mind.

  3. I remember when I first read this book, about eight or nine years ago. The major feeling that dominated me while going through its pages was that of a deep thirst - when I reached the end of it I simply knew that it was merely the beginning of something much bigger, a first from countless layers of knowledge. But just like in your case, Tash, it was only some years later that its deeper meanings revealed themselves :).
By a beautiful coincidence (or not?...) the same book came up in a discussion that I had less than a week ago with a friend, who had no idea about this online book talk, and somehow this strengthened my feeling that, leaving aside the beautiful literature of it, its profound truths are heading unalterably towards our conscience and our heart. We simply have to want to open our eyes and acknowledge it.
    Lilly :)

    1. So good to see you Liliana! You're comment gave me goose bumps! ha! Do you know over the past two weeks, I have heard the term "Critical Mass" in four random's that for "mere coincidence"...I think so many are so ready to wake up...we just have to find that trigger that is really going to move it along. We have so many little communities that are trying to incorporate this way of being...imagine if they could somehow all come together...

    2. I believe that we are close to the moment when all these little communities will manage to get surpass the barriers and we will witness a beautiful awakening :). It's like a chain reaction, starting from an individual level and expanding. It has already reached a level that is too high for certain entities to put an end to this anymore - so the only foreseeable consequence to this is a worldwide phenomenon. Where there is a will, there is always a way :).
And personally, I just love the shivers that I get when I see the nine insights mirrored in the life surrounding me every day :).

    3. It's coming!!! :) And the shivers..yes...all about those shivers! Look at us on different sides of the world...feeling the same things, experiencing the same "coincidences" and waking up to the magic!

  4. Thanks you, for sharing~ Shivers, when my intuition is so spot on! Wonderful post and thanks for visiting me :D
I need to go find this book!
