Raise a Glass

[Delacroix: Liberty Leading the People]

Raise a glass to the artists,
And artisans, all,
Who have heeded their own inner call.
Raise a glass to the painters,
The poets, et al,
Who’ve championed liberty, for all.

Raise a glass to the dancers,
And musicians through time,
Who’ve moved with their own inner rhyme.
Raise a glass to the writers,
Who’s words, with stretched wings,
Have stopped to question, the conscience of kings.
Raise a glass to creatives,
Who go within, every hour,
And know ‘tis they, who have the real power.

  7. We'd all be drunk if we drank enough toasts to those who've gone before, and those among us going forward now, but in the wine of the mind, we can always keep our heads. Loved it Roger, and love the new site and community.
