Sometimes we all need a little 'pick-me-up'
at mid-week. So, the NWCU is presenting a new feature entitled: The NWCU
Wednesday Wake-Up Call.
Image compliments of Baut Images....Thanks Roger!! |
As we are well aware, everything is going
multi-dimensional these days. People are taking painting, poetry, prose,
sculpting, sketching, et cetera to the next level by combining them with other
art forms. Here's a new opportunity for you to show your creativity and talent
to the world.
Each Wednesday we will be spotlighting a
topic, or quote, for you to demonstrate your creativity. You can use any art
form you chose to express your interpretation of a spotlighted topic or quote.
Submissions will be to our NWCU blog via
Mr. Linky, so everyone in our Facebook and Twitter groups who chose to, may
participate, and be seen by all other participants on the blog. Participants
will also be able to comment on each other’s submission, and give a Google+ to
the entry, to vote for it.
The Wake-Up Wednesday feature will open at
8:00 a.m. each Wednesday morning, EDST and run through Sunday morning, 8:00 a.m. EDST, which will give members plenty of time to compose,
post and view each other's contributions.
A
winner for The NWCU Wednesday Wake-Up Call will be announced on Monday, and will be determined by the number of Google+ hits that each entry
has received. At the end of each month, a monthly winner will be designated by
the highest number of Google+ hits received by each weekly winner.
• Each weekly winner will receive a
‘special’ badge to display on their blog, or site that reads something like: “Weekly
NWCU Award for Creativity, 2012.”
• The monthly winner will receive a special
'cameo' profile presentation in our Wednesday Wake-UP Winner of the Month in
our NWCU blog, as well as a special badge for their blog, or site that reads, “The
Monthly NWCU Award for Creativity, 2012.”
The NWCU Wednesday Wake-Up Call begins on
Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. EDST.
Roger...this is going to be wonderful! Nothing better to get us over the hump-day grind. So looking forward to see what our willing participants might bring!
ReplyDeleteThanks Natasha! Me too! And there's more to follow!

Roger, what a great idea to see how different art forms interpret the same topic/quote. It will be a great way to promote and showcase creativity.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susie! And I do agree, "...It will be a great way to promote and showcase creativity." Thanks for commenting!

This is great news, Roger! Diversification for the NWCU (if you'll excuse the use of a commercialism - wash your mouth out JA!) is just the ticket. I seem to remember that we had a conversation about this some time ago, film / photographic poems type of thing. I really ought to make an effort to get my head back into this soon; just need to mug up on the app I'll use - used to be iMovies v6, but now on v9! Or Final Cut, which I don't know how to use properly yet! Damn it, constantly updating technology does me head in sometimes! But I will get there, honest I will!
ReplyDeleteGlad you resonate to this John and hope to see you participate. There's a nice 3 day window of opportunity once the event starts on each Wednesday. So, give it a shot. I know there are many gems you could create!
DeleteThanks again for your presentations, and thoughts in the NWCU!
Roger
