Promote your presence
You’ve taken the time to create your social
media presence; now make sure everyone knows where they can find you online.
Here’s a list of all the places to promote
your social media profiles:
Email signature
Website/Blog – Make sure your links to your
social media profiles are easy to find.
Top left is good. Don’t take up too much
prime real estate for them, though.
Your other social media profiles
Newsletters – both paper and email versions
Business cards
Letterhead, note cards, etc.
Your advertising – Tip: Think of using your car as a moving billboard to mention who
you are and that you’re on Facebook, etc.
Marketing/promotional materials
Event promotions
Mention it in conversations
Also make sure to promote your website/blog
on your social media profiles.
Tip: List your website in the About section on Facebook and/or create a
custom Facebook tab that takes people to your website. The sooner people see
the link the better the chance they’ll visit it.
Always be sure to check your links when you
add them and be sure to check them regularly to make sure they still work.
Keep this list handy so when you change
your website address or add another website to your online presence you can
easily go back and make sure everything is changed.
It’s important to get the word out. Let me
know if there are other creative ways you promote your presence.

Thank you! As somebody who's pretty new to trying to set up a social media presence, it's been difficult. I have about 35 people on my facebook page, and 33 followers on Twitter, and about 4 on my tumblr (which serves as my main blog, using disqus for comments). It's growing very slowly and strangely, but I hope to implement some of this advice! Bless, Zach.
